The Bahá’í Electoral Process - 2025 Unit Convention

Baha'i Electoral Process Sep 29, 2025

Unit Conventions for the election of delegates to the Bahá’í National Convention

Unit Convention across our region is just days away!  What a special opportunity we have to fulfil our sacred responsibility and privilege of taking part in the Bahá’í election process through participating in the Unit Convention. As Abdu'l-Baha wrote: "What a blessing that will be—when all shall come together, even as once separate torrents, rivers and streams, running brooks and single drops, when collected together in one place will form a mighty sea."

The many rivers and streams from around the world that form this mighty sea all begin at the level of the unit.  When we attend our Unit Convention, participate in consultation and the election of our delegate to the National Convention, we are participating in a sacred process, unique to this Revelation, that impacts not only our own community, but connects each one of us with the entire Bahá’í world.

"On the election day, the friends must wholeheartedly participate in the elections, in unity and amity, turning their hearts to God, detached from all things but Him, seeking His guidance and supplicating His aid and bounty." – Letter from Shoghi Effendi, dated February 27, 1923

Please see the chart below to confirm the date, time and location of the Convention for your electoral unit. If you are unclear about which electoral unit you reside in, please check the Unit Convention materials you received in the mail in early September. If you still need help, please reach out to your Local Spiritual Assembly. If you live in an area not yet served by an Assembly, you are invited to reach out the the Regional Council for assistance at secretariat@rbcse.org.

Listen to a conversation between friends as they explore the distinguishing features of the Bahá’í election process and the Bahá’í Administrative Order, hosted by Anthony Jewitt, and featuring Micah Streiff, Auxiliary Board member in Georgia, and Chuke Williams:

For many of us, attending the Unit Convention will be an experience we are very familiar with. For others, this may be the first time, or are fairly new to the process. It might be helpful to learn more about the process, and about the importance of this sacred duty.
